Restorations

Our teeth go through a myriad of daily stress activities.  We may even clench or grind subconsciously. Diagnosing the severity and whether the tooth is restorable is important as it determines treatment outcomes. Have a look at the example in the Smile Gallery. The entire cusp of the tooth is missing and fractured.

The most conservative treatment solution for this case was to restore the tooth with a aesthetically pleasing 3/4 ceramic crown bonded to the existing undamaged cusp.  The restoration looks so natural that one is unable to tell the difference between tooth and ceramic material.

In this next case, we see a molar tooth under a rubber raincoat and we are able to visualize clearly a crack running through the tooth from one side to the next.

In this case, the patient was having severe pain on biting and chewing and a constant toothache.  In the short and long term expectancy, there was little to remedy a crack of this nature.  Hence alternative treatment options were sought.
